Midwifery Services
Midwifery care is focused on you as an individual. Hour long appointments are scheduled in the comfort of your home. Initial consultations are always free.
Homebirth
Safe, compassionate care from beginning to end in your home. This package includes both prenatal and postpartum care (see below) as well as labor and birth support. Skilled attendants support your physiologic process, offering support and clinical assessment. Waterbirth is available
Wellness Visits
Services include PAP smears and other laboratory tests, STI testing, annual exams, nutritional counseling, preconception visits, and referrals as needed
Placenta Encapsulation
Anecdotal evidence of placenta consumption points to improved postpartum experience, increased energy, and increased milk supply. Your placenta can be encapsulated by me with a cord keepsake when possible regardless of where you birth
Hybrid Care Options
If choosing or needing to deliver at the hospital, you can still benefit from midwifery care in the comfort of your home. Hour-long appointments can be scheduled concurrently with your hospital provider or as desired, navigating any questions that may arise and preparing you for upcoming labor. What to expect in labor and postpartum, labor positions, reassurance, and additional support postpartum are some benefits of the hybrid care model.
Monitrice
A monitrice not only provides labor support like a doula but clinical skills as a midwife. If desiring reduced interventions at the hospital, laboring at home with a skilled provider can be a good tool to help determine when to head in. Vitals are taken regularly and cervical checks offered. Once at the hospital, I move into the doula role and stay through birth and chest/breastfeeding initiation
Prenatal
All visits are focused on your individual needs. Nutritional and genetic counseling, holistic treatments, lab work, and assessments are done throughout appointments. A trusting, collaborative relationship is forged during this time to help emotionally prepare for birth and postpartum
Postpartum
Regardless of birthplace, you can receive comprehensive postpartum visits at home. At least 4-6 visits are done from birth through six weeks, with more as needed. Both baby and parent are assessed each time, taking vitals, providing lactation/feeding support, reviewing newborn care, performing labs as indicated, and so much more
Within the hybrid model, you have options: the most comprehensive being both prenatal and postpartum care with monitrice services.
You may also choose only prenatal and/or postpartum care.
